Rue des Barres
Michelin Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
At the beginning (13C), this picturesque street in the 4th arrondissement and emblematic of historic Paris, was called Ruelle aux Moulins-des-Barres, in reference to the watermills on the nearby Seine. The former charnel house of St-Gervais was located at no 15. At no 12, the 16C half-timbered house that belonged to the Maubuisson Abbey estate, is now a youth hostel. Fine view over the east wall of St-Gervais-St-Protais church.
