ViaMichelin Navigation V6.5.4

This patch is compatible with all versions 6 of the ViaMichelin Navigation software for your mobile GPS.

Please check which version you have by clicking on "Options > General > About" from the Main Menu.

1- Make sure the application for PC Content Manager is not running. We also advise you to close all other applications running on your PC. Finally, make sure that ViaMichelin Navigation is not running on your mobile GPS.

2- Connect your mobile GPS to your PC.

3- Download the file "VMNavigation_PND_6.5.4.zip" and save it on your PC (by default in "My Documents" or on the desktop).

Make sure you do not save the file in the ViaMichelin folder (by default "C:\Program Files\ViaMichelin\MapSonic" or "C:\Program Files\ViaMichelin\ViaMichelin Navigation").

5- Unzip the file "VMNavigation_PND_6.5.4.zip" to a temporary folder using WinZip (for example by right clicking on the zipped file and using the "Extract to folder" function).

6- Open the temporary folder and double-click "VMNavigation_PND_6.5.4.exe," then follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

7 - Once the patch installation has finished, check that it has been installed correctly on your mobile GPS by consulting the version (Main Menu > Options > General > About). The version displayed should be "6.5.4".

You can now enjoy all the enhancements to your software!

ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T's owners with software version lower than 6.5.3:

Once installation is complete, export the contents of “My ViaMichelin* from the “Content Manager” application (even if the latter does not contain any saved items) so as to recreate the branch structure of “My ViaMichelin” on the PND (“My book” and “My POIs” sections). This will make it possible to create saved items directly from the PND:

1 – Connect the ViaMichelin Navigation X-980T to the PC

2 – Select “No” when asked about partnership

3 – Start the “Content Manager” application on the PC then click on the “My ViaMichelin” tab

4 – Click on the “Export >>” button and finally on “Synchronize”

On account of the developments in the management of personal saved items with the Content Manager application and the growing interaction with ViaMichelin’s Internet site, installing the new programs on your ViaMichelin PND does not enable your personal saved items to be kept in their old formats.

It will therefore be necessary to recreate them following the installation of the patch 6.5.4 either directly on your PND or from ViaMichelin’s Internet site and then to export them to your PND.

Thanks to the new programs, these personal saved items will from now on be kept on your PC at the time of synchronization procedures.
