Capital of Belgium, royal residence, seat of the European Communities (EU, Euratom, CECA) and NATO), Brussels is a great and dynamic city. Between the north and south of the country, it is a cultural mix - Dutch speakers, French speakers and foreigners cohabit here. Brussels architecture is varied - modern buildings on the great boulevards contrast with the gabled houses of the historical centre and the sublime Grand-Place.
