Metz

From ancient times, the capital of the Mediomatrics was an important city. It was the residence of the Kings of Austrasia who built a sumptuous palace here (La Cour d'Or), nicknamed «La Riche» in the Middle Ages, and is now a commercial city with a technology park specialised in software and telecommunications.
Too often considered a garrison town, the birthplace of Verlaine is a floral city, with fine yellow stone façades: a pleasant place to live.
