Luxembourg

Situated on a plateau punctuated by ravines traversed by a multitude of bridges, Luxembourg presents un unusual picture. Depending upon the angle from which it is viewed, the city seems to be a military fortress, an urban hub or a country town. Its squares resemble theatre sets, with elegant pastel façades, yet behind this apparent tranquillity is an animated atmosphere, in keeping with its status as a capital city, financial centre and seat of European institutions.
