Madrid

Madrid, a modern city, does not have monumental and prestigious historic buildings like its European rivals. The exceptions are the Plaza Mayor of the Habsburgs and the avenues and neo-classical palaces built by the Bourbons. However, its old streets filled with shops unchanged throughout the years, innumerable taverns, great museums displaying fabulous collections brought together by successive dynasties and its festive and lively atmosphere make it an attractive capital where life is good.
