Adler Planetarium
1300 S. Lake Shore Dr USA - 60605 Chicago, IL

It's worth the views up and down the lakefront to walk out to the Adler, which occupies a beautiful setting. The oldest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, it is also renowned for its fine collection of historic astronomical instruments and its splendid sky shows. A major renovation in 1999 added 60,000 square feet of wraparound exhibit space that enclosed two-thirds of the old Art Deco building in glass.
