The enormous Gothic Cathedral of St Bartholomew has a number of remarkable features. Its 103m-high spire is the highest of the land. Inside it boasts a lofty reticulated vault, an early 16C chapel and, above the master altar, the Pilsen Madonna, a fine example of late 14C \"Beautiful Madonnas\". The Plague Column near the west entrance to the church dates from 1681.
