Römer and Römerberg
Römerberg D - 60329 Frankfurt am Main
This disparate block of 3 middle class houses from the Middle Ages overlooks the Römerberg. The Zum Römer house includes 52 statues of emperors in the Imperial Room. The Römerberg is limited to the south by St Nicholas' church (13C), to the south-west by the Wertheim house and to the north by the Steinernes Haus. In the square is the fountain of Justice (1543). This historical part is in contact with the postmodern architecture of the adjacent Schirn Gallery.
