It was in the humble house on the corner of Hans Jensens Stræde and Bangs Boder that the world-famous fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen was born on 2 April 1805. You can see letters, notes, manuscripts and rare editions of his works as well as original illustrations, personal objects and a reconstruction of his study. In the adjoining library, it is possible to listen to recordings of his fairy tales.
