It is the only cathedral in Spain to have adopted the French taste for tall, slender and light naves. The exceptional set of stained glass windows which illuminates the nave - an area of 1200m² - has jeopardised the strength of the whole building. The Renaissance trascoro (the area behind the choir) was designed according to plans drawn up by Juan de Badajoz. To the left of the high altar, a remarkable Flemish-influenced Entombment is attributed to the Master of Palanquinos.
