Golden Tower
paseo de Cristóbal Colón 12 E - 41001 Séville
Looking over the River Guadalquivir, this attractive Almohad tower formed a part of the defensive system of Seville. Originally covered in gilded tiles, it allowed the river to be closed by chains with the help of the other tower situated on the opposite bank. Made up of two bodies with twelve sections, it is topped with crenellations and crowned with a turret added in the 18C. Today it contains the Maritime Museum. On the quay, some launches offer attractive trips on the river.
