Oceanografic
Av. Autopista de el Saler 1-3- 5- 7 E - 46013 València
The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, just a few hundred metres from the Valencia's port, is an architectural wonder to behold. In addition to its Science Museum, Arts Centre, 180° cinema and tree-lined promenade, the complex is home to Oceanografic: 110 000m2/119 900sq yd, 42 million cubic metres/45 780 000yd of water (the equivalent of 15 Olympic swimming pools), 45 000 animals and 500 species, and a gigantic dolphinarium. Its originality can be attributed in part to the architecture - the work of Felix Candela - which is not purely based on aesthetics, but seeks the optimum way to showcase the fish.
