Firstly there is the superb Gothic chevet which must be seen it for its system of flying buttresses. Then looking out over St Michael's Square there is a very attractive doorway. Inside the chancel 34 metres high and lit by stained-glass windows has a depth and capacity to move you that puts it amongst the best in France. In the Romanesque nave with its majestic capitals, note the colouring and the modernity of the Ascension stained-glass window that nevertheless dates from 1140.
