St.Maurice's Church
Quai Eustache F - 74000 Annecy
Built in the 15C for the Dominicans, this Church is a regional landmark because of its hanging roof. The very wide Gothic nave is typical of preaching orders. The side chapels are decorated with armorial bearings and coats of arms. In front and to the right of the pulpit, there is also a fresco of the Assumption. On the left of the chancel, there is the beautiful Lowering of the Cross by P.Pourbus and a wall painting representing the death of Philibert de Monthouz.
