The beautiful moated, half-timbered manor house was begun in 1440 with the building of the Great Hall. It was only finished some 140 years later with the addition of John Moreton's Long Gallery. Notice the tracery in the bay window of the Great Hall and the painted frieze in the Parlour that tells the story of Susanna and the Elders. The murals in the Long Gallery under the fine arch-braced ceiling represent Destiny and Fortuny.
