Elisabeth Bridge
H - Budapest -5e
This modern suspension bridge bears the name of Elisabeth of Wittelsbach, wife of François-Joseph, the Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary, in a word, Sissi. A sculpture by György Zala shows her in the small park to the right behind the bridge, coming from Pest. A little farther on, two pieces of the Berlin Wall stand up covered with graffiti, which were moved here. Higher up, on the grassy slopes, a naïf style monument commemorates the insurrection of October 1956.
