| St Mary's Cathedral Mary Street IRL - Limerick | ||||||
| The oldest building in Limerick, the Anglican Cathedral was built in 1168 by a King of Munster, Dónall Mòr O'Brien, on King's Island in the River Shannon. Parts of the king's palace have been incorporated in the original church (formerly cruciform) built in transitional Norman style. The main doorway may once have been the palace entrance. Inside, visitors can admire a number of remarkable sculptures. | ||||||
