Founded in 1267 and ornamented with a Renaissance gallery, it houses the Bentivoglio Chapel, which was decorated in part by Lorenzo Costa, from Ferrara, and it is entirely dedicated to the glory of this Renaissance family which held the destiny of the city in its hands in the 15C. One member of the Bentivoglio family, a jurist, is buried in a beautiful tomb by Jacopo della Quercia. Take a good look at the melancholy expression of the Virgin painted around 1494 by Francesco Francia.
