Saint Bernardino Church
V. San Bernardino I - 67100 L'Aquila
This Magnificent church commands attention with its lavish facade completed in 1527 by Cola dell'Amatrice. Inside, beneath a lovely wooden Baroque ceiling you will see the elegant tomb of Maria Pereira and the mausoleum of Saint Bernardino adorned with figures by the local sculptor, Silvestro dell'Aquil. (a reminder that Bernadino of Sienna died in Aquila in 1444)
