This is an oblong square. It is very lively and colourful on market days. With stalls of fruit and vegetables, a fountain surmounted by the Madonna of Verona (a Roman statue), old palaces some decorated with marble columns and frescoes, the dominant pink colour of the facades, it is absolutely stunning! Along the centre line are the column of St Mark bearing the winged lion, the symbol of Venice, the market column and the \"Capitello\" or \"Tribuna\" where decrees and sentences were proclaimed.
