Initially this was located to the east of the port, near the dunes (around Visserplein), the fishermen's town was then enlarged and has new districts to the south and to the west which are made up of large brick quadrilaterals set around a courtyard accessed by wide porches. You may perhaps see some women dressed in traditional costume (older women): a black dress and apron and a lace bonnet.
