The Royal Palace
Wawel Hill PL - 31-001 Kraków
The Palace was built in the Renaissance style by two Florentine architects for King Sigismund I. On the ground floor, the Gothic section includes the crown jewels (sword of state and shoes worn by 10-year old King Sigismund Augustus). On the first floor, there is a collection of 16C-17C portraits. On the second floor, the luxurious royal apartments are hung with tapestries that speak for several centuries of art and history.
