Rune stone
S - Gränna
This famous rune stone (2.5m high) was erected around 900 in memory of the son of the Viking chief Varin. A long and complicated runic inscription covers most of the stone, on both sides. It recounts myths and legends, as well as the Varin family history. The nearby exhibition provides explanations in Swedish.
