Hotel & restaurant : A man of the arts with a collector’s eye, the Duc d’Aumale, son of King Louis Philippe, who restored the Château de Chantilly after the Revolution, owned a hunting lodge on this forested estate, where he organised the most sumptuous receptions. Now a cosy hotel, the lodge boasts classic rooms decorated by designer Stafan Lauters, complemented by a selection of more contemporary, Italian-style rooms.
