From its plot in Danville's Rose Garden marketplace, Esin feels fresh with soft yellow walls and dark wood trim, as if it just sprouted yesterday. In fact, Esin is actually a transplant that flourished for 10 years in San Ramon. Here, it continues to please crowds with well-executed, homey fare that takes a cue from the Turkish roots of Chef/owner Esin deCarion, whose name means "inspiration. " Working together with her husband and co-owner, this kitchen team turns out such Cal-Med dishes as apple-cured gravlax with grilled bread and caperberry butter; and a fillet of petrale sole cooked meunière-style with lemon-caper beurre blanc. Desserts are tasty and homemade, like the rich and subtly sweet banana cream pie with a dark chocolate cookie crust.
