+Pros

We set off to Ventnor from London for a meeting over lunch at The Hambrough. An exciting journey with so much to look at. The Hambrough made for a great lunch, the service were very efficient. Chef Robert Thompson kindly greeted us at the table. All in all a fabulous adventure topped by fabulous food.

-Cons

The town looked very run down.

+Pros

I booked the table to coincide with a short break from Leeds and although I loved the island, The Hambrough was the destination and it didn't disappoint. A fantastic tasting menu and the somelier created a perfect 'wine flight' to match. The food could not be faulted and Chef Robert Thompson even came to speak to us after service which made the evening even more memorable...especially as I was able to glean the method for his smoked duck egg yolk ravioli in a velvet beetroot soup which wowed my guests at Christmas.

-Cons

The six hour drive from Leeds!
