Useful information

Description

The red-brick building was completed in 1905 based on Martin Nyrop's design, who was inspired by medieval Danish architecture and the Renaissance of northern Italy. A room on the ground floor is given over to the astronomical clock by Jens Olsen (1872-1945), which calculates the eclipses of the sun and moon with great accuracy: within half a second every 300 years! Fine view from the top of the tower over the city and the harbour.
