The Sattlers have been running this family business for over 30 years, and the next generation – son Markus and daughter Anna – have now taken the reins. Both excel in their field, not least thanks to their experience in top-tier international restaurants. Markus Sattler heads up the kitchen, serving a creative six-course seasonal set menu. Particularly interesting and beautifully balanced dishes such as ikejime trout with einkorn and chives or pasture-raised cockerel with pepper and savory have a strong regional focus. The ingredients come from the immediate vicinity, with flowers and herbs grown in-house. The wine list comprises around 550 labels from all over the world, including from the family estate, which is renowned well beyond Austria. Anna Sattler provides excellent advice and oversees the service with warmth and expertise. Comfortable accommodation is also available – all in a wonderful setting amid the vineyards.
