The trip out here into the countryside is definitely worth it! Clad in Swiss hardwood, the building housing this restaurant stands directly adjacent to a recreational area and close to the Reuss River. Chef Manuel Steigmeier presents bold, sophisticated dishes that are prepared with remarkable precision and distilled to their essence. Guided by the philosophy "Locally rooted, globally inspired", his set menu, which is based on outstanding ingredients, comprises modern interpretations of classics (eg "cappelletti, tomato, cheese, celery") and original creations such as "kohlrabi, wasabi, ginger, yuzu". The result is a harmonious and joyous combination. Part of this culinary experience is an extensive wine list featuring around 800 labels, along with a knowledgeable and communicative front-of-house team. The decor is sleek and stylish, and in the lofty, bright and airy Fahrhalle, the designer lamps created by the owner's son are a striking feature. The terrace is glorious.
