The Michelin Guide's review
This family château dating from 1850 has been tastefully restored by a young couple with a background in Alain Ducasse's restaurants and other high-flying establishments (Palais de l'Elysée and Plaza Athénée in her case, Le Meurice for him). The single set menu elevates the finest produce from the kitchen garden: fresh tomatoes and almond cream with garlic croutons; salt-marinated grey mullet from Le Grau-du-Roi with smoked taramasalata; Aubrac ox tongue and heart with red peppers from the garden; beef liver Monte Cristo with prune condiment. For dessert: vanilla blancmange with fig oil, coffee tartlet. All the bread is baked on-site using natural sourdough. Menina is their convivial new restaurant in a converted barn dedicated to traditional home-style cooking. Lovely guestrooms for an idyllic stay; swimming pool.
