The Michelin Guide's review
One way of describing the food at Vinoteca Moratín would be to say that it partly mirrors the space in which it is served and reflects the passion of its owner-chef Marcos Gil, who heads to the market every day to select the very best seasonal ingredients. This intimate restaurant, which is not particularly remarkable or obvious from the street outside, stands out thanks to its stylish decor (combining the rusticity of its wood beams, whitewashed walls and ceiling and striking abstract paintings) and its cosy nooks and crannies, such as the small shelves where books and bottles of wine are arranged side by side. Here, the concise à la carte focuses on traditional dishes including delicious soups and stews. Booking is essential and we recommend listening out for the chef’s daily specials when he takes your order.
