The Michelin Guide's review
Here you can admire how the beach merges with the North Sea. Red, yellow and ochre tones dominate the opulent decor in turn. The colourful rugs, art on the walls and classic furniture all add to the luxurious, elegant feel of Latour. And then there is the extremely attentive service, which will make you feel like royalty! The chef adds more allure to this magical place with his contemporary approach to finesse. Terms like dashi, ponzu and sashimi are all part of his everyday vocabulary. He combines exotic influences to enhance classic dishes – and even desserts. For example, he brings together local produce like foie gras and smoked eel (from Spakenburg) and Asian flavours by delicately lacquering the fish with a teriyaki sauce. Dots of wasabi and a refined dashi broth balance the distinct flavours nicely. A final word of advice: be sure to leave some room for the plateau of artisanal cheeses. You won't regret it.
