The Michelin Guide's review
Situated opposite the church of Santa Maria in Vallicella (known to locals as Chiesa Nuova or new church), this restaurant is named after its owner Alessandro Pipero. Ciro Scamardella, a young chef from Campania who is not yet in his forties, is at the helm in the kitchen, where he prepares modern and creative meat and fish dishes with a focus on the seasons (the beef with spinach, bay leaf and black garlic sauce is particularly good), including a few specialities from his native region. His recipes feature ingredients such as rapini, escarole and lemons and his beautifully presented cuisine demonstrates a continuous search for balance and colour. Front of house, friendly Achille Sardiello leads a team that is fully focused on the needs of guests.
