Congee
The Michelin Guide's review
Tainanese never have to look far to find good food in every nook and cranny of their city, as this shop amply illustrates. Its Tainan-style congee is more like soupy rice than the creamy type. Milkfish fillet, oysters, Chinese celery, fried garlic and rice are drenched in a clear stock to make the brunch favourite of many locals. Also try the fish skin dishes: extra flesh is intentionally left attached to the skin to create a pleasing contrast of textures.
