 Well worth the diversions
Natural site
  The Michelin Guide's review
This large sandy formation, which occupies nearly a quarter of the island of Boa Vista, instantly calls to mind the Sahara. The wind sculpts the ridge of these dunes dotted with rocky peaks and date palms. The presence of the Salamansa and Estância mountains as a backdrop lends the largely protected site a wild beauty. Most of the island's travel agencies organize 4x4 trips there.
