  The Michelin Guide's review
The ‘Blue Island’ owes its nickname to the multitude of hydrangeas in bloom in the summer months. Dominated by a beautiful caldera, famous for its astonishing lunar landscapes at Capelinhos, it offers magnificent views of THE volcano of the archipelago: Pico. The capital, Horta, is an engaging and dynamic little town wrapped around a marina known to ocean-going sailors from all over the world. Pretty villages, fragrant forests, windmills, pastures and beaches give the rest of the island a very special charm.
