The Michelin Guide's review
The landscapes on Vlieland, an island in the Wadden Sea, are made up of dunes and woods. It is home to just a single town: Oost-Vlieland. A main road crosses the island from east to west. The wild stretches at its western end, which form the Vliehors, are only disturbed by soldiers and tourists in high season. A pleasant, tranquil atmosphere reigns over this island as only its inhabitants are allowed to drive cars here.
