From the pass, where a statue of the Virgin Mary has been erected, there is a superb view of Monte Rosa and its many glaciers. On the Italian side, there is a refuge close to a small lake. Access is difficult, however, due to the slope. On the Swiss side, there is a beautiful view of Lake Mattmark, dominated by the Strahlhorn and the Allalin.
