The Michelin Guide's review
These are the most spectacular tombs from the Dilmun period. Their exceptional size, compared with the thousands of tumuli scattered across the landscape, suggests that they were royal tombs. Excavations have revealed numerous fragments of funerary deposits: stone crockery, ceramics imported from Mesopotamia and ivory. Other equally impressive tombs are scattered throughout the village.
