The Michelin Guide's review
This site houses three ancient monuments which were moved at the same time as the other Nubian edifices. The Amada Temple, built under the XIII Dynasty, is famous for its polychrome reliefs (note in particular those in the sanctuary, showing Amenophis II presenting offerings to Re and Amun). Battle scenes can still be seen at Derr Temple, built by Rameses II. The Tomb of Pennout boasts decorations, as well as texts recounting the life of this official of the pharaoh.
