  The Michelin Guide's review
This château on the banks of the River Armançon is one of Burgundy's finest residences. It was built for Antoine III de Clermont, Dauphiné's governor and husband of Anne-Françoise de Poitiers, from 1542 to 1550, according to plans by Sebastiano Serlio, a talented Italian architect who came to the court of François I He played a significant role in introducing the principles of Italian Renaissance architecture to France. The elegant courtyard and murals have been beautifully restored.
