Museum
The Michelin Guide's review
In 1946, Picasso was looking for a studio where he could create large-scale works. Museum curator Romuald Dor de la Souchère offered the painter a large room in Château Grimaldi. The grateful artist said "I won't only paint for myself here. I'll decorate the museum for you". He produced most of the exhibited paintings, drawings and sketches in one season and gave them to the town of Antibes. The museum also houses the bequests of Jacqueline Picasso (1991) and Hartung-Bergman and the Nicolas de Staël collection.
