 Michelin Guide
 Well worth the diversions
Natural site
  The Michelin Guide's review
The site is accessible by a coastal road from Ardara, on the south bank of Loughros More Bay. Take in the sandbanks and tombolo, lit up by the morning sun. Nine kilometres from Ardara, you pass Maghera Falls, which tumble down from an indentation in the cliff. Further along, on the beach, you can see the Maghera Caves at low tide: these deep, dark grottoes were used as a hideout by clandestine poteen (or poitín) distillers and as a secret chapel during the persecutions.
