In 1980, an Atlanta entrepreneur, Ted Turner, created CNN (Cable News Network), the first 24-hour news channel. Around 40% of the global content broadcast by this news giant is produced in Atlanta. At the end of 2023, the channel was in the process of moving from the colossal CNN Center in Downtown to the Turner Broadcasting Techwood Campus, west of Midtown.
