Dusit District

Michelin Guide
Well worth the diversions
City and village
The Michelin Guide's review
Inspired by his trip to the West in the early 20C, Rama V had the district of Dusit, the site of the royal residence, laid out in the style of a major European city, with wide boulevards lined with trees. As a result, this district has a pleasant, airy feel with its shaded avenues, numerous gardens and private houses surrounded with greenery. The centre of political power in Thailand, Dusit is now home to most of the country's ministries and administrative offices.
