The Michelin Guide's review
More a spectacular set of untamed rapids, Benham Falls was created by an ancient lava flow that extended into the Deschutes River. Only expert whitewater veterans challenge these Class V rapids. To see the falls, take the trail (.75mi one-way) from the parking area across the footbridge over the Deschutes River, and then follow the trail along the river's western bank.
