This Romanesque edifice was modified during the Gothic period and again in the 18C. The church was a principal site of the 1209 massacre perpetrated by the army of crusaders entrusted with the task of eradicating the Cathars at the request of Pope Innocent III. Inside, admire the generous proportions and elegant sobriety of the building.
