The Michelin Guide's review
Thousands of migratory birds, including very rare cranes from Siberia, threatened with extinction, spend the winter in the Keoladeo Ghana reserve, attracted by its reed beds and marshlands, shaded by trees whose foliage filters the light. In the 18C, it was the property of Maharaja Suraj Mal, who used to organise hunting parties here. The reserve, which extends over an area of 29km2, is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
