The Michelin Guide's review
Lying to the south of Union Square, this hill is the focus of Romanian Orthodox religious life, with a harmonious ensemble of buildings comprising the patriarchate church, the former metropolitan palace (in the Wallachian style), and the residence of the patriarch (1907), symbols of the church's power. The locals meet up here druing religious festivals, notably during the Orthodox Easter, the climax of the church calendar.
